Amy Neuzil, Naturopathic Doctor
Amy Neuzil, ND, attended the prestigious University of Virginia for her pre-medical studies with the intention of pursuing neurosurgery. While attending university, Dr Neuzil reexamined what she really wanted to achieve with medicine. She changed her focus towards general practice and began working with nursing home patients for whom nutrition, physical activity and overall quality of life were largely overlooked. This experience showed Dr. Neuzil that she wanted to give more to her patients.
Fortunately, Dr. Neuzil came upon naturopathic medicine – a unique combination of modern pathology, diagnosis and treatment options with the inclusion of alternative treatment modalities such as nutrition, lifestyle therapies, homeopathy, orthomolecular nutrient supplementation and counseling.
Dr. Neuzil completed her B.A. in psychology and her pre-medical studies at the University of Virginia and earned a doctor of naturopathic medicine degree at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine. She is currently the vice president of the Texas Association of Naturopathic Physicians and owns, operates and practices out of Excelon Health in Austin, Texas.
