Eugene R. Zampieron, ND, MH (AHG)
Dr. Eugene R. Zampieron, aka “Dr. Z,” is a licensed naturopathic doctor, a medical herbalist, a professional member of the American Herbalist Guild and an alumnus of Bastyr University. He was on the elite founding advisory board that established the University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine, the first accredited naturopathic medical college on the eastern seaboard, and he is now the senior-most faculty member at the institution, teaching many courses including botanical medicine, pharmacognosy, ethnobotany and geriatrics (with an emphasis on holistic rheumatology).
Dr. Z is a botanical formulations inventor of herbal products for Nature’s Answer. He has been a radio and television host for 25 years and is an international lecturer on natural medicine. Along with business partner Dr. Ellen Kamhi (The Natural Nurse), he has produced thousands of radio programs, and still produces weekly radio programs on WPKN, WUSB and the Progressive Radio Network. He has coauthored hundreds of articles, magazine columns and several books, including The Natural Medicine Chest, the mammoth seller Arthritis: The Alternative Medicine, Definitive Guide and Cycles Of Life – Herbs & Energy Techniques for the Stages of a Woman’s Life. He practices in Woodbury, Conn., and also sees patients at the University of Bridgeport’s Naturopathic Medicine Clinic.
Dr. Z is also an ethnobotanist and CEO of www.EcoToursforCures.com, an internationally acclaimed company that leads ecologically based ecotour specialty travel groups into the rainforests of Jamaica and around the globe to study with native herbalists and shamans. Dr. Z’s Ecotours for Cures was recently featured in Air Jamaica’s In Flight magazine. He enjoys organic gardening, tropical landscape architecture, traveling and writing.
