Jaquel Patterson, Naturopathic Doctor

Jaquel Patterson, NDDr. Jaquel Patterson completed her naturopathic medical studies at University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine (UBCNM). She currently works full-time in a leadership and managerial capacity at Morris Heights Health Center (MHHC), a federally qualified health center in Bronx, N.Y., that serves more than 48,000 residents per year with over 200,000 visits annually. At MHHC, Dr. Patterson works on health initiatives pertaining to issues such as childhood obesity, senior wellness, employee wellness, improved patient care and quality of health care services, as well as the implementation of wellness and prevention throughout MHHC’s 13 locations. She is currently spearheading a Center of Wellness and Excellence at MHHC.

Dr. Patterson believes that community and public health initiatives constitute an area in which naturopathic medical expertise is extremely effective and produces amazing results. She also has consulting experience in health-related issues in Conn. and N.Y., and research experience as an associate at Yale-Griffin Prevention Research Center.
 
Dr. Patterson currently serves as a national board director for Sickle Cell Disease Association of America (SCDAA) and serves as the communication chair for the program committee of SCDAA. She also serves on the NAACP executive committee as the health chair for greater Bridgeport, Conn. She is an active member of the New York Association of Naturopathic Physicians (NYANP) and the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP). Dr. Patterson received the only 2008 Service Leadership Award from UBCNM for her exceptional leadership and contributions to the school’s community.
 
In addition to her work in health care administration, Dr. Patterson also works in private practice as a consultant for both individuals and groups/organizations.
