Jared Skowron, Naturopathic Doctor
Dr. Jared M. Skowron, ND - NCNM alumnus, is a full-time faculty member at University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine, where he teaches pediatrics and supervises the new pediatrics & autism teaching shift, which will begin in January 2010. As a DAN (Defeat Autism Now) practitioner, Dr. Skowron specializes in pediatrics, ADHD and autism in his private practice.
Dr. Skowron’s recently published his first book, Fundamentals of Naturopathic Pediatrics, a definitive text on evidence-based natural remedies for children’s health conditions. He is also an expert on Vitamin D therapy, and his article “10 Ten Myths of Vitamin D” was chosen as one of the Best Vitamin D Articles by the Vitamin D Council. Dr. Skowron is also a national lecturer and in October 2009, he appeared with one of his patients on Animal Planet, Dogs 101. The show shared the remarkable story of how Dr. Skowron cured a teenage girl afflicted with mitochondrial disease with the help of his patient’s loyal Afghan hound.
