Naturopathic Doctors Act - Idaho

Idaho Becomes Next State To License NDs

(July 1, 2005) - The Idaho Naturopathic Physicians Licensing Act (INPLA) was passed by the legislature with only one dissenting vote and was signed by Governor Kempthorne on April 12, 2005 and went into effect July 1, 2005.

The efforts made by the governor and legislators on behalf of this bill will go down in history as an extraordinary event in the state of Idaho. This act allows for naturopathic physicians to be regulated. It will add to the procedures they can currently practice in Idaho, including: minor surgeries, limited prescription rights, diagnostic techniques and the ordering of labs. This law gives the people of Idaho more options in their health care as naturopathic physicians will now act as portal of entry providers.
