Welcome to AANMC's special event issue – Summer / Fall 2007.

Editor's Note – Thanks for visiting!

A very big and very WARM thank you to those of you who braved the August heat of Southern California and attended Prospective Student Day in Palm Springs last month! I enjoyed seeing all of you there, asking so many important and relevant questions about the profession. You give me confidence in our next generation of naturopathic doctors.

For those unable to attend, four of the top doctors and researchers in the field (shown pictured to the right) addressed the audience, engaging them on a number of pertinent topics, including:

  • Potential career paths in the field
  • Future forecasts for the profession
  • Case studies
  • Research work and opportunities
  • Much more

The stimulating conversation continued with a Q & A panel and carried over well after the event, when the room filled with one-on-one conversations between attendees and school admissions advisors.

A special congratulations goes to our long-distance visitors: Kara Armstrong from Fairbanks, Alaska, and Jason D. Wysocki from Wayne, New Jersey! These two each won a prize for traveling the furthest to visit us, and took home with them “The Textbook of Natural Medicine.”

Following on the heels of this event was the Naturopathic Medical Student Association (NMSA) Conference, which drew a gathering of skilled and ambitious doctors-in-training.
