 JoAnn Yanez, ND, MPH
The executive director of AANMC, Dr. JoAnn Yanez, will discuss trends in naturopathic medicine and the benefits and challenges of working in licensed and unlicensed states. Dr. Yanez is a passionate advocate for naturopathic medicine who has spoken before senators, congressmembers, governors, and medical experts about the benefits of naturopathic medicine and state licensure of NDs. Dr. Yanez has served on the boards of the New York Association of Naturopathic Physicians and the Council on Naturopathic Medical Education where she helped revise accreditation standards for NDs in alignment with federal Department of Education guidelines. An engaging speaker, Dr. Yanez gave the commencement address for her graduating class at SCNM.
Dr. Yanez will also give a brief introduction to the principles and practice of naturopathic medicine. She is the first panelist in our free webinar.
Jud Richland, MPH, MPA
Jud Richland, CEO of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, has dedicated over 25 years to advancing the cause of naturopathic medicine and improving public health policy. Richland is the former president and CEO of Partnership for Prevention, a national health policy organization, and also served as the executive director of the American College of Preventive Medicine. Richland will discuss the growth of naturopathic medicine and current public policy initiatives at the state and federal level, including the potentially positive impacts of the Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare") for NDs and other CAM professionals.
