Naturopathic Doctors Act - Calif

Naturopathic Doctors Act (SB 907) in California State

(January 1, 2004) - The state of California now officially recognizes the naturopathic profession. This bill became law on January 1, 2004. Licenses began to be issued in late fall, 2004. NDs who graduated from an approved school, and have passed either NPLEX or a state board exam, are now eligible for the California license.

"California is a leader in the emerging natural health care field. To continue prohibiting Californians from seeing qualified providers of natural health care and receiving the benefit of the services they provide just doesn’t make sense. Consumers deserve a range of quality health care options, and this bill helps make that happen."
-John Burton, Senator, Calif.

"California is a bell weather state and licensing our doctors there will have a ripple effect throughout the country."
-Thomas C. Shepherd, DHA, Bastyr University President
