(May 11, 2010) – Aspiring to be a doctor her entire life, Dr. Guiltinan’s experiences and beliefs steered her toward naturopathic medicine. Her research and experiences have fostered her philosophy of keeping people healthy by helping them to heal themselves. “I try to look at the big picture,” she says, focusing on the cause of illnesses or health problems instead of just “patching them up.”
While Guiltinan respects both natural and conventional medicine, she says the key to a long, healthy life is not complicated and does not come in the form of a pill or in a big bottle. “It’s understanding who you are as a person and listening to your body.”
Dr. Jane Guiltinan is the dean of the School of Naturopathic Medicine at Bastyr University and has enjoyed a distinguished career in naturopathic medicine. Want to know more? Read the full article.
