One of my great loves in life is travel. I feel fortunate to have visited Mexico, Canada, Jamaica, the Bahamas, England, Scotland, Ireland, Morocco, Spain and Portugal, and I hope to follow in the footsteps of my mother and travel somewhere new every couple of years.

Allen Caldwell, Admissions Representative

Allen Caldwell, Admissions RepresentativeAllen Caldwell was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. He moved to Phoenix, Ariz. in 1981 and currently lives in Tempe, next door to the SCNM. Allen is very proud of his family of five: his wife, Martha; his son, Jorge; and his daughters, Mya and Frances.

Allen is in his 11th year in college admissions. “I have a passion for helping people change their lives for the better by pursuing their dream of becoming a naturopathic physician. I get tremendous gratification in working with students before and during college, culminating in watching them graduate from SCNM. I try to develop a permanent, trusting relationship with prospective students and show them I truly care about their success.”

Allen came to SCNM in August 2006 and, like most students who visit and attend the school, says, “As soon as I stepped in the door, SCNM felt like home. I plan to be here until I retire because of the positive, natural family atmosphere shared by staff, faculty and students here. The smiles and enthusiasm shared by our SCNM family are like no other.”

Allen enjoys spending time with his family, swimming, board games, movies, helping his children with their homework, and baseball. Allen has traveled to 42 out of 50 states, and his favorite outdoor activity is white water rafting; he has rafted the Upper Colorado, Gunnison, Arkansas, and Salt Rivers.

On behalf of the admissions staff, we extend an open invitation for you to come and visit SCNM and see if you would like to become part of our family.

Jody Durham, Admissions Representative

Jody Durham, Admissions RepresentativeJody Durham was born and raised in Mishawaka, Ind. She married her high school sweetheart, Jeff, and has two beautiful girls: Heather and Samantha. Jody and her family moved to Arizona in June 2002, and Jody joined SCNM in August 2006.

“This is the best change I have ever made. I love working with the students, seeing their excitement about starting the ND program, and being part of their journey into the naturopathic profession. The staff and faculty are absolutely wonderful to work with, and SCNM is definitely a family-oriented atmosphere. Everyone cares deeply about each and every student’s success.”

Jody’s main foci at SCNM are advising students, organizing Interview Day and Student-for-a-Day, scheduling AANMC Informational Forums and traveling to different states to talk to prospective students about naturopathic medicine.

Jody enjoys spending her spare time with her family, including Jackson, her Jack Russell Terrier. She also enjoys golfing, and what better place to do that than in warm Arizona!

Golfing is very relaxing and a great way to get exercise and spend time with friends and family. You also get a little fresh air.
